Trial of attorney Dewain Herring for the shooting death of strip club manager John Johnson (of Chastity’s Gold Club) is underway. When first arrested, he said he was home in bed. Once he sobered up and realized that he could be ID’d by a number of strippers and surveillance cameras, he changed his story. He WAS there sucking down scotch and getting lapdances. And he MAY have had a loaded .357 with him. And if it went off accidentally while in his hand, it was a harmless error.

Houston’s not kidding. According to Kris Overstreet, a law passed ten years ago was recently upheld, promising to put THOUSANDS of adult business workers out of business. The strict rule enforces a 1500ft distance from the property line of any school, park, church or day-care center, and a 1000ft distance from each other, including heavy restrictions on signage and building paint colors. According to Overstreet, this upheld ruling effectively bans all nude entertainment from the City of Houston.
Someone should let those ladies know that Washington, DC can use them.
According to the Asbury Park Press, Howell, NJ is the newest municipality being pressured to regulate adult businesses. Howell’s take is a bit different. In addition to the usual 1000 ft from schools, Howell’s proposal wants adult businesses in free-standing business dwellings (read: no strip malls) and a safe distance from residential or neighborhood commercial zones.
