Houston’s not kidding. According to Kris Overstreet, a law passed ten years ago was recently upheld, promising to put THOUSANDS of adult business workers out of business. The strict rule enforces a 1500ft distance from the property line of any school, park, church or day-care center, and a 1000ft distance from each other, including heavy restrictions on signage and building paint colors. According to Overstreet, this upheld ruling effectively bans all nude entertainment from the City of Houston.

In addition to the usual 1000 ft from schools, Howell’s proposal wants adult businesses in free-standing business dwellings (read: no strip malls) and a safe distance from residential or neighborhood commercial zones.
