As predicted here, the no-lap-dance bill in Ohio passed the state Senate. Governor Ted Strickland says it will become law without requiring his signature. Sorry, Ohio. But hey, with your obscene traffic laws, who goes there anyway?

The bill is through the Ohio House, now on to the Senate, where is has just as good a chance at passing. The girls aren’t too happy with it, because lapdance income is definitely more precious than regular tipping income. Phillyburbs has the story.

Trial of attorney Dewain Herring for the shooting death of strip club manager John Johnson (of Chastity’s Gold Club) is underway. When first arrested, he said he was home in bed. Once he sobered up and realized that he could be ID’d by a number of strippers and surveillance cameras, he changed his story. He WAS there sucking down scotch and getting lapdances. And he MAY have had a loaded .357 with him. And if it went off accidentally while in his hand, it was a harmless error.
Except for John Johnson, that is.

In an odd bit of news, Steve Cooper Jr has outed his dad, "strip club mogul" Steve Cooper, for playing fast and loose with his licensing, faking to city officials that he’s opening an Italian restaurant and planning to turn it into a strip club after the licenses are secured.

Now here’s an example where the six foot law wouldn’t have helped. Here’s how it allegedly went down: Guy goes to club, pays for an outrageously-priced lap dance in the champagne room. Girl goes in to tell him it’s going to be a couple minutes (prettying herself up for him, I’d imagine) and finds him naked in the champagne room. I guess nobody told him, "NO SEX IN THE CHAMPAGNE ROOM." So he gets thrown out, and apparently he was drinking during the day and at the club, so he’s a little bit "lit." He pulls up to the front door awning in his car and fires a shot at the door. Unfortunately said shot nails club manager in the back of the head. Surveillance camera shows the license plate, they track it down and it supposedly belongs to this lawyer. So they bust into his place, and he points a gun at the officers. Not a good day, I’d say.
