Texas house and senate sent a bill to the governer for his signature that would force all strip club patrons to pay a $5 admission fee which would go toward sexual assault victims, prevention and services and indigent health care. While I have no problem funding those services, I think it’s completely unfair and unreasonable to tax strip club patrons specifically to pay for it. Doing so seems to imply that strip club patrons are somehow RESPONSIBLE for the sexual assaults. I have been to many strip clubs, and have never sexually assaulted anyone, unless you fall into the extremist belief that merely walking into a strip club is a sexual assault unto itself. I really hope someone sues Texas over this law. This HAS to be unconstitutional. Details at NBC5i.
